We had a fantastic trip to the Four Corners area of Utah, Arizona, Colorado, and New Mexico. It was an 8 day whirlwind covering 4 national parks (5 if you count both parts of Canyonlands) and 2 state ones. The Colorado Plateau region is a spectacular blend of red rock arches, monoliths, and cliffside switchbacks as well as breathtaking viewpoints of sinuous river canyons. Let's not forget also the indigenous pictographs, petroglyphs, and cave dwellings. And, oh yes, in Moab we discovered our newest favorite cocktail- a gingertina (Bombay sapphire gin and ginger liqueur).
Here we are in Arches National Park, near Moab, Utah, which we visited first. Well actually, we drove through the Petrified Forest and Painted Desert National Park on our way to Moab. Here are some photos from there, as well as more from Arches:
