I can't believe it's been three weeks since I last posted. Our days just fly by and there has been nothing new to report until now. Jacob is smiling adorably and trying to turn over (but not yet succeeding). However, there are some new and exiting developments in the past week:
1) Dean has started rehearsing with a concert band here in Tucson and will be playing in a concert on October 3rd. It is symphonic music, not jazz, but he is thrilled to have the opportunity to play with other musicians. We have been attending jazz clubs once or twice weekly and are overwhelmed by the number and variety of musical and other cultural events at our fingertips.
2) Call us crazy....but, we have made an offer that has been accepted on a house in Tucson and are currently in the inspection period. I am sure you can understand the enticements here for me (baby Jacob) and for Dean (music connections). After six years as nomads, we are both ready to settle down (for a while, anyway) and we really like Tucson. Not sure how it will all work out with the boat and the house in Alamos but housing prices and interest rates are so low right now that it makes more sense than continuing to rent when we come to visit. We still plan to take the boat to La Paz in November and will be in Alamos in January for the music festival.
Not sure whether or not to continue the blog--- our life is becoming more pedestrian and less interesting, I fear and our adventures on Emily B have become fairly tame.
