We finally caught that pesky dorado that got away last year. We were in about the same place on our crossing back to San Carlos and it is a bit larger now, so we're happy. We also caught a smaller cousin a few miles before so we are awash in dorado right now. Had friends for fish tacos last night. YUM!
We left El Burro Cove on Friday as it was just too hot. When the catfish started poking Deans' legs while we were swimming off the stern to keep cool we decided it was time to boogie. We ended up at the north end of Isla San Marcos where we had a glorious time snorkeling until the NW swell started up. We moved around the corner to Sweet Pea Cove for the night and on Sunday morning we set out for the 70 mile crossing back across the Sea of Cortez to San Carlos.
We're now back in our previous slip in Marina Real and planning a quick trip back to Alamos tomorrow to check on the house prior to Monday's haulout. It's been a fantastic 3 months in the Sea and we are grateful to have had the opportunity to cruise this lovely region again.
Dorado in the water, Dean pulling it in,
Luna patiently waiting,
